How EDF Found a Way to Only Support the Most Impactful Grant Projects

EDF Foundation, the EDF Group’s corporate foundation with a €10 million annual budget that has supported 489+ projects since 2016, faced massive demand and the challenge of selecting the most impactful grants from thousands of applications (over 600 complete files in 2020). To streamline eligibility screening, prioritization and document management, the Foundation adopted Optimy as its grants project management tool.

Optimy delivered customizable online forms, dashboards, Excel exports and automatic pre-filled documents and refusal emails, enabling rapid rollout of a COVID “Solidarity Fund” intake and fast regional/thematic classification of submissions. The solution increased productivity, created a reliable project database and clear audit trails, and directly helped EDF Foundation process hundreds of applications in 2020 and better allocate its annual funding.
