PECO strengthens supply chain design with Optilogic using daily inventory and service-level simulation

PECO Pallet, a leading provider of pooled pallets, faced challenges in its supply chain design due to an optimization-only approach that could not account for uncertainty in supply and demand. This led to reactive decision-making, unrealized cost savings, and difficulty verifying timely customer service. To address this, PECO partnered with vendor Optilogic to find a new solution using the Cosmic Frog platform.

The solution implemented by Optilogic involved converting PECO’s legacy optimization models to Cosmic Frog and building a repeatable optimization-to-simulation workflow. This allowed PECO to proactively test and verify the effectiveness of proposed design changes under realistic, variable conditions. By combining optimization with simulation, Optilogic enabled PECO to strengthen its supply chain design process for more proactive and informed decision-making.
