Daikin Industries, a global HVAC manufacturer with over 104,000 employees, faced a challenge with limited visibility into its domestic inventory operations. Its complex supply chain, managed by distributed functions with distinct KPIs, made it difficult to validate the cost-effectiveness of existing practices and ensure optimal, globally coordinated outcomes. To address this, Daikin partnered with vendor Optilogic to utilize its Cosmic Frog supply chain simulation platform.

The solution involved building an in-house simulation capability with Optilogic's Cosmic Frog, which was chosen for its ability to replicate Daikin's proprietary supply logic. The team constructed a data-driven baseline model of the domestic supply chain, establishing a framework to measure the relationship between service levels, cost, and workload. While full quantified results are pending, the project created a foundation for replicable, data-driven decision-making. Optilogic provided collaborative support, which was key to maintaining the project's pace and building a methodology intended for global scalability.
