Opticon’s Opi-3601 Proves Durability in Use at BP Austria

bp Austria, a branch office operating 262 service stations, required a barcode scanner that was compact, durable, and capable of reading both 1D and 2D barcodes from smartphone displays to manage high-frequency checkout processes and digital customer cards. The challenge was to find a technical solution that would optimize these workflows for their employees.

Opticon provided the OPI-3601 2D imager scanner for use at the checkout, which successfully met these needs. The solution sped up processes by allowing staff to scan products and digital coupons directly from phones, and its included stand enabled hands-free operation. As a result, Opticon's scanner, which has been reliably in use for eight years, streamlined operations and integrated easily with their existing inventory system.
