Their manual process of using and frequently replacing paper slips for labeling was time-consuming and posed potential health risks to warehouse workers. They partnered with vendor Opticon to find a digital solution.

The solution was the development of the “OPALsESL-software” for Opticon’s Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) hardware. This allowed employees to manage all labeling digitally from a computer. Opticon's solution created a safer, more user-friendly workflow that increased productivity by freeing employees from manual tasks and eliminated potential errors associated with the previous paper-based system.
