A Opticon Case Study
M-Market, a supermarket chain in Finland with 67 stores, faced a challenge with the labor-intensive daily task of manually changing paper price labels for products like bread and ice cream. This recurring process consumed significant employee time. The vendor, Opticon, was engaged through M-Market's Point of Sales provider to address this with an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) pilot.
The solution implemented by Opticon involved installing 70 ESLs of various sizes (1.5”, 2.1”, 4.2”, 7.5”) and a single Basestation across multiple in-store departments. Opticon provided a range of mounting options to ensure the labels met the aesthetic requirements and were easy to install on the rails. This pilot streamlined the price updating process and the Basestation provides a scalable foundation for M-Market to easily expand the system to more ESLs in the future.
