Reducing Co2 emissions with RBU Santiago’s EV fleet

RBU Santiago, a Transdev operation in Chile, needed to transition its public transportation network from diesel to electric buses while managing the added complexity of EV operations. To do this, the company turned to Optibus and its operation management software to plan and schedule a new fleet of 245 electric buses.

Using Optibus’ EV scheduling and planning tools, RBU Santiago created operational scenarios before the buses even arrived, accounting for charger availability, charging restrictions, battery requirements, and energy costs. The solution helped RBU Santiago begin operating 25 electric buses after a six-month implementation, and the full fleet is expected to avoid 2,096.7 tons of CO2 emissions per month.
