Somerset Passenger Solutions (SPS), the shuttle operator for the Hinkley Point C project in the UK, manages transportation for 10,000 passengers a day across a large and complex network of routes. With 13 schedules and 128 buses running to meet highly variable demand, SPS needed a better way to stay aligned with passenger needs, work schedules, and on-the-ground service realities. SPS used Optibus’ Planning, Scheduling, and Rostering tools to help address this challenge.

With Optibus, SPS automated many repetitive day-to-day scheduling adjustments and improved how it planned routes and timetables. The software helped the team keep services running on time, respond more effectively to demand, and improve the passenger experience through better-informed planning. SPS said that without Optibus and its automation, it would not be in a position to meet client expectations.
