LCI (Leader Communications Incorporated), an Oklahoma City–based provider of telecommunications, engineering and IT services to government and commercial customers, needed stronger email security for its Microsoft Exchange environment after experiencing malware breaches with a single antivirus solution. Seeking better defense against email-borne, zero-day and targeted attacks, LCI evaluated OPSWAT’s Metascan (now Metadefender Core) multi-scanning email protection.

OPSWAT implemented Metascan/Metadefender Core to scan incoming, outgoing and internal email attachments with multiple antivirus engines (between 4 and 40), sanitize risky attachments, and block spoofed file extensions. The solution was easy to install, LCI saw a significant increase in malware detections, and OPSWAT’s multi-scanning approach noticeably improved protection against known and unknown email threats.
