Verizon, the largest wireless company in the U.S., was grappling with a surge in phishing, vishing and smishing attacks that impersonated its brand, harvested customer credentials and generated fraudulent charges. To protect customers and cut fraud‑related losses, Verizon selected OpSec Security and its OpSec AntiFraud solutions, including global website takedown and proactive monitoring services.
OpSec Security implemented a long‑term anti‑fraud watch and takedown partnership, using proprietary preventive tools, phish‑kit analysis and fast coordination with ISPs, registrars and hosts to shut down malicious sites. In eight months OpSec Security helped take down 24 collection points (email accounts, stolen credentials and redirector sites), leading to fewer phishing incidents, reduced fraud losses and lower operational and reimbursement costs, with a strong return on investment.
