Microsoft partnered with OPRA Psychology Group to create a model for unbiased prediction of future performance and to support its leadership development strategy. The challenge was to assess 18 leaders across Asia/Pacific in a way that would identify developmental needs and priorities for change, and the programme was designed as a pilot for broader rollout across Microsoft.
OPRA Psychology Group delivered a 1-day executive development centre using task-based methodology, including personality, emotional intelligence, cognitive ability, simulations, and structured interviews, with reporting focused on observable executive behaviours and derailers. The result was fast, specific, easy-to-understand feedback delivered within a day, plus debriefs and coaching that built Microsoft’s in-house capability to run future programmes; participants reported the activities were challenging, insightful, and highly valuable.
