Developing Future Focused Skills

Westpac, one of Australia’s major banks and one of New Zealand’s largest, wanted to prepare its workforce for the rapidly changing future of work. To support this, the bank launched a “Future Skills Mapping” initiative to help employees understand and develop the capabilities needed for future-focused careers, while also guiding business units on where to invest in training.

OPRA Psychology Group delivered the solution using three online evidence-based assessments: abstract reasoning, personality profiling, and video-based situational judgement tests tailored to Westpac. The results were combined into a personalised report mapped to Westpac’s 10 future focused skills, with links to learning resources on LearningBank. The program was well received, with 92% of surveyed Group Operations participants saying they would recommend it, and it helped inform subsequent capability development and training investment.
