Case Study: NSW Public Service Commission develops Aboriginal leaders with OPRA Psychology Group

A OPRA Psychology Group Case Study

Preview of the NSW Public Service Commission Case Study

Developing Aboriginal Leaders

The NSW Public Service Commission (PSC) wanted to increase Aboriginal representation in senior roles across the NSW Public Sector, and commissioned OPRA Psychology Group to design and deliver a capability-based assessment programme for 24 Aboriginal employees aspiring to leadership roles. The programme needed to align with the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework and support leadership development across the public service.

OPRA Psychology Group delivered a fully customised assessment and development solution, including personality and ability testing, co-facilitated workshops, tailored 360-degree feedback, and culturally relevant questions incorporating community perspectives. The result was clear, easy-to-use reporting with group and individual insights, actionable talent management recommendations, improved participant performance and employment opportunities, and the project led to OPRA being reappointed for a further three years.
