Northwell Health Consolidates Testing Efforts & Increases Test Coverage Across Custom Apps with Opkey

Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York with over 81,000 employees and more than two million patients annually, faced a major testing challenge: automated testing across roughly 75 highly customized applications running on legacy systems (including Internet Explorer). Maintaining disparate Selenium, Appium, and UFT scripts was time-consuming, especially for non-technical business users who struggled to document and maintain test cases. Northwell turned to Opkey for a more holistic, legacy-friendly testing solution.

Opkey delivered an end-to-end testing platform with drag-and-drop and record/playback test building, automatic test documentation, and in-app communication to reduce manual effort and improve collaboration. As a result, nearly all of Northwell’s custom applications are now automated, 70% of the manual testing team are Opkey-certified and create tests without technical assistance, and Northwell can seamlessly test complex integrations to ensure business continuity.
