iHerb, a pure-play online retailer of vitamins, supplements, and natural health products, needed to expand fulfillment capacity to support rapid growth, same-day shipping goals, and an expanding international customer base. Faced with labor shortages, high rent, and the need to reduce mispicks and returns, iHerb turned to OPEX Corporation and its Perfect Pick® automated storage and retrieval solution to help scale operations without increasing footprint.

OPEX Corporation implemented a 10-aisle Perfect Pick® system powered by iBOT® robots at iHerb’s Hebron, Kentucky facility, then later added a second system in Moreno Valley, California. The solution uses goods-to-person picking, pick-to-light guidance, and high-density tote storage to improve speed and accuracy, helping iHerb process orders in about 15 minutes, achieve roughly 3x the labor efficiency of its California batch-based center, and scale throughput by an additional 20% if needed.
