BioLegend stores 6,500 cubic feet in 1,500 square feet with OPEX

BioLegend, a developer of high-value antibodies and reagents for biomedical research, faced the challenge of storing and efficiently picking thousands of cold-stored products while ensuring employee comfort and supporting business expansion. They partnered with vendor OPEX Corporation to find an innovative automation solution for their new headquarters, seeking to decouple the picking process from the cold storage environment.

OPEX implemented its Perfect Pick HD system, which provided dense storage within a 1,500 square foot cold room. The system stores 2,990 totes and routes them to external pick stations, keeping staff comfortable. This solution from OPEX allows for 1,200 dual-cycle tote transactions per hour, enabling BioLegend to achieve fast, secure, and accurate order fulfillment for its customers.
