University Institute of Lisbon - Customer Case Study

The University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte) equipped its computer science students with skills in designing and developing a complete information system. The challenge was to provide a practical educational framework where roughly 200 students could collaboratively work on a complex software project, covering both front-end and back-end development.

Using the OpenXava framework, the students implemented a credit management application with a focus on a simulation and approval module. The solution involved creating databases in MySQL and writing all application code with OpenXava. This project successfully gave students hands-on experience in modern development practices, from business process modeling with BPMN and UML to full-stack programming.
