SNY converts their fair-weather fans into brand loyalists with OpenWeb

SNY, the official TV home of the New York Mets, Jets, and New York sports, wanted to better listen to and engage its passionate fan community. The network needed stronger tools to encourage interaction and help fans share their thoughts with editors and other community members, and partnered with OpenWeb for a real-time conversation platform.

OpenWeb implemented live, event-driven commenting with features like highlighted avatars, real-time typing indicators, and rich media support, helping SNY spark more active fan conversations and optimize content using behavioral analytics and reporting. The results included 39,224 comments and replies, 58,440 likes and dislikes, commenters spending 20X more time on-site than non-active users, and commenters being 3X more likely to return the following week.
