TACVB - Customer Case Study

The Texas Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (TACVB), a one‑person staff supported by volunteers, needed to rapidly convert its annual in‑person conference to a virtual format. TACVB engaged OpenWater and its Event Cloud platform and services to migrate the program, maintain session quality, and preserve engagement for members under a tight six‑week timeline.

OpenWater provided training webinars, office hours, white‑glove conference build‑out, and day‑of technical support to run 32 sessions smoothly. The virtual event drew about 600 unique attendees—approximately a 77% increase over the typical in‑person turnout—allowed recorded sessions to be accessed later (opening the door to continuing education credits), and demonstrated the value of a strong virtual component for future hybrid events. OpenWater’s platform and support were credited with enabling this outcome.
