A OpenWater Case Study
The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is a nonprofit membership organization serving more than 25,000 nurses, and its annual awards program was becoming difficult to manage with separate online forms, manual eligibility checks, and time-consuming follow-up. The process was confusing for participants and unsustainable for a small team, especially as the program grew.
AWHONN implemented OpenWater to centralize and automate the awards workflow, replacing spreadsheets and email attachments with one platform for applications, judging, and communications. OpenWater helped automate acknowledgments, reminders, and approvals, enabled redacted reviews, and simplified annual setup, resulting in 80% faster application evaluations, 95% less time spent on manual editing, and streamlined seven fragmented categories into one.
