Big Eye Deers, a design and development agency, needed to maintain high internet speeds for its remote workforce. They selected OpenVPN to address the challenge of ensuring performant connectivity without overloading their VPN infrastructure.
The solution implemented by OpenVPN utilized a feature called split tunneling. This allowed Big Eye Deers to configure their VPN so only traffic bound for internal company servers was routed through the tunnel, while all other internet traffic used the employee's direct connection. As a result, OpenVPN reduced the load on their VPN server and prevented interference with other web services.
