When Alì met analytics: Innovate technology to innovate the business

Alì Supermercati needed a more scalable business intelligence platform because its older MOLAP-based system could not handle growing data volumes, long historical analysis, or more detailed comparisons across sales, time, and store data. To address this, Alì Supermercati worked with OpenText support partners and selected Vertica as its Big Data Analytics database, along with ETL, reporting, and visualization tools.

OpenText’s solution helped Alì Supermercati consolidate multiple data marts into a single integrated data warehouse and expand from product-focused BI to customer-centric analytics. The new platform stores nearly 2 TB of granular data, supports about 300 KPIs per customer, enables one-to-one promotions, churn forecasting, staffing forecasts, and fraud detection, while also improving speed and flexibility for users across the business.
