Wavin, a leading supplier of plastic pipe systems with about 5,000 employees and operations in 25+ countries, faced a time-consuming, error-prone sales order process because many customers without EDI sent orders by email, fax or paper. Manually entering hundreds of order lines into SAP diverted sales teams from customer-facing work and increased the risk and cost of incorrect data entry.
Wavin implemented OpenText Business Center for SAP Solutions with OpenText Professional Services, using a POC and pilot in three countries to convert incoming documents to PDF, extract order data with machine learning and automatically inject it into SAP. The solution reduced manual processing time and costs, improved data quality and multi‑channel order handling (including complex “ship‑to” logic), and is being scaled to additional countries with measurable time savings and increased accuracy.
