Voltage SecureData reduces costs and risk while safely enabling data monetization from big data cloud analytics platforms to SaaS web analytics

Large Healthcare Insurance Organization, a major U.S. healthcare and health solutions company, needed to secure highly sensitive customer and health data while expanding analytics access across the business. Its Hadoop data lake and SaaS web analytics platform created privacy and compliance challenges, and earlier encryption approaches were too costly and not format-preserving, limiting broader use of data. OpenText’s SecureData and SecureData Sentry were used to help protect data without blocking analytics workflows.

OpenText implemented format-preserving, end-to-end data protection with SecureData Sentry between the customer website and the web analytics platform, encrypting sensitive fields before they reached the SaaS service while preserving data usability. The solution also extended across the enterprise to more than 150 applications, including mainframe and RDBMS systems. As a result, the organization enabled secure analytics at scale, reduced exposure of sensitive customer data, and achieved substantial cost savings compared with cloud-specific alternatives.
