Voith Using OpenText ECM Suite to Ensure Security, Privacy and Data Integrity

Voith IT Solutions GmbH, a global industrial leader with about 40,000 employees, 300 locations and €5.6+ billion in revenue, needed a way to store and manage “strictly confidential” documents without disrupting users. The challenge was to protect vital information from unauthorized access and distribution while integrating seamlessly into the standard Windows client and Microsoft Office environment.

Voith implemented the OpenText ECM suite—including Archive Server, Content Server, Document Management and Enterprise Connect—backed by OpenText Professional Services. The Voith Datasafe project now stores confidential files in a secure ECM repository, leverages built‑in content lifecycle security features, required minimal customization, and provides desktop access via Enterprise Connect with seamless integration into Windows Explorer, Office and Outlook.
