CDK Global’s Denmark team needed to modernize DRACAR+, its Micro Focus COBOL-based dealer management system used by 1,500+ dealers and over 20,000 users across Northern Europe. The challenge was to move off aging Net Express/Server Express tools while preserving extensive automation and 30+ OEM integrations, combining COBOL and .NET teams, and maintaining the application’s competitive advantage.

Using Micro Focus Visual COBOL for Visual Studio and COBOL Server, with consulting support from Micro Focus, CDK Global migrated the codebase quickly and with low risk. The move was completed in roughly 90–100 days versus an anticipated 190, cutting delivery time by about half, streamlining collaboration between COBOL and .NET developers, retaining functionality and competitive edge, and enabling faster, more frequent releases and cost efficiencies.
