Viega Lifts Enterprise Content Management to the Next Level to Support its SAP-Driven Business Processes with OpenText Technology

Viega, a family-founded German manufacturer and global leader in plumbing and heating technology, needed to overcome limits in its IT landscape that were preventing process improvements. Although the company had built interfaces between SAP and a document archive, many updates still required manual work and information was scattered across SAP, email and office systems—making cross-system, process-oriented access to customer files difficult.

Viega ran a 2010 proof of concept and implemented OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions together with OpenText Content Server, fully integrating content with SAP ERP, SAP CRM and other systems. The solution delivered automated, bi-directional data transfer and fast synchronization across systems, reduced IT effort to maintain file solutions, increased productivity and transparency, supported collaboration for roughly 250 users, and will be adopted for future file solutions.
