United Group, a fast-growing regional media and telecom provider, needed a scalable enterprise analytics platform as its acquisitions, data sources, and user queries increased, and its old Netezza system reached end-of-life. The company chose OpenText, using the Vertica Analytics Platform with support from implementation partner Poslovna Inteligencija, to handle complex queries, data mining, and expanding business needs.

OpenText helped United Group migrate to a mirror Vertica system and integrate data from SAP, Informatica ETL, and other sources for analytics and Tableau reporting. The new platform delivered major performance gains: nightly ETL dropped from 100 minutes to 24 minutes, more than 4x faster, and average query speed doubled. OpenText also enabled machine-learning-driven addressable advertising and a 360-degree customer view for service teams, improving targeting and customer support.
