Vertica supports a more efficient financial services system for MUCFC

MUCFC, a joint venture between Wing Lung Bank and China Unicom, provides online consumer finance and needed a reliable big data platform to integrate telecom and financial data for real-time credit and risk evaluation. The company required strong data security and availability, low-latency high-performance analytics, scalable growth support, and simplified operations to reduce IT overhead.

MUCFC deployed Micro Focus Vertica on an MPP relational, columnar architecture running on a PC server cluster (starting at four nodes and scaling to eight). Vertica processed about one billion user behavior records (from roughly 280 million users) in 10 minutes, tolerated node failures without downtime, and delivered cost-effective, scalable analytics—improving credit assessments, risk control, marketing precision and overall business agility.
