Uses Micro Focus® Content Manager to prevent disruption amid organizational change

The Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS), which supports 23,000 staff across public services, needed to recategorize and migrate millions of records after a 2015 restructure (reducing departments from 12 to 9) and again when moving records into a shared HPE Helion private cloud. The challenge was to reorganize and transfer roughly 50 million records without disrupting employee access, losing data, or breaching regulatory requirements.

NICS used Micro Focus Content Manager as a central records repository and ran scripts to quickly recategorize records, assign new owners and permissions, and move Content Manager databases to the cloud. The effort reorganized millions of records in weeks, migrated data sets over a single weekend, avoided service disruption and data loss, and preserved regulatory compliance while scaling for future growth.
