US Signal cuts cloud migration windows in half with PlateSpin Migrate

US Signal, a Midwest network and data-center provider with more than 14,000 miles of fiber and eight owned data centers, expanded into cloud infrastructure and needed a faster, lower-downtime way to migrate customer servers and applications from diverse physical and virtual environments. Their existing spreadsheet-driven, agent-installed backup process was manual, time-consuming and strained to meet narrow customer migration windows—especially ahead of a large project involving more than 350 servers.

US Signal tested and adopted Micro Focus PlateSpin Migrate to automate discovery, provisioning, live transfer and testing, integrating it into their migration workflow with vendor support. The solution cut migration windows by about 50%, reduced preparation work from weeks to days for large-scale projects, enabled background sync and final cutover with minimal downtime, and improved overall customer experience.
