U.S. Local Government Agency - Customer Case Study

The U.S. Local Government Agency, a long-term customer of OpenText, needed a more secure and scalable way to manage access for both internal staff and citizens. After nearly 10 years on its predecessor, iChain, the agency upgraded to OpenText NetIQ Access Manager to support role-based access control, single sign-on, and easier monitoring across internal and external websites.

OpenText implemented NetIQ Access Manager with NetIQ eDirectory to create separate authentication systems for about 700 employees and 5,000 citizens. The solution automated user provisioning, centralized identity data, and enabled self-service password resets, reducing IT workload and improving productivity. Most importantly, OpenText helped the agency significantly strengthen security by protecting internal systems from unauthorized access while making access faster and more convenient for users.
