U.S. Department of the Interior Sets the Bar High with Groundbreaking eERDMS Program

The customer, the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), required a single, integrated information governance platform to manage all records from any device, reduce IT costs, and share services. They partnered with vendor OpenText and The IQ Business Group to implement a solution utilizing OpenText Enterprise Content Management (ECM) technology, including Archive, Auto-Classification, and Records Management.

The solution, an Enterprise eArchive System, was deployed in the cloud by The IQ Business Group in just 45 days. It enabled the DOI to capture and auto-classify 70 million emails monthly, achieving compliance with FISMA regulations. This OpenText solution standardized archiving, reduced litigation and management costs, and was a key part of an IT transformation initiative projected to save $500 million.
