University HealthSystem Consortium Uses Open Text Web Site Management to Improve User Experience

University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), an alliance of 107 academic medical centers and 241 affiliated hospitals representing about 90% of U.S. nonprofit academic medical centers, needed a more flexible, secure, and personalized web presence. Its legacy site had no content management system, made authoring and workflows cumbersome, limited control over who saw what content, hindered intranet/extranet search, and consumed significant Technology Services time.

UHC implemented Open Text Web Site Management (Management and Delivery Server) to power its public site, a ~2,000‑page member extranet, and a 250‑user intranet, integrating roughly 15,000 documents. The solution simplified authoring with reusable templates and workflows, enabled secure, personalized pages and better search, reduced publishing steps and tech support overhead, and improved the user experience—helping users complete tasks faster and giving UHC much greater control over its content.
