Case Study: Tukes achieves secure, compliant IT monitoring with OpenText Sentinel

Tukes decided to deploy NetIQ Sentinel Enterprise using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model

Tukes, the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency, needed a scalable, cost-effective way to centralize log data, monitor its Windows environment, and meet legal and regulatory requirements as it expanded operations. OpenText, through the Sentinel Enterprise solution delivered by partner Javerdel in a SaaS model, was selected to help support secure log collection and analysis.

OpenText implemented Sentinel Enterprise integrated with Tukes’ email server and Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment, hosted in Javerdel’s data center. The solution improved visibility into logins, authorization changes, server capacity, and potential threats, while enabling Tukes to trace every login and prove compliance with VAHTI regulations. The result was stronger intranet security, clear weekly reports, 25,000 weekly logins monitored, and long-term, cost-effective log storage with 24/7 service availability.
