Trinity Mirror Develops National Olympic Photo Pool Solution with OpenText

Trinity Mirror plc, one of the UK’s largest multimedia publishers, led the creation of the National Olympic Photo Pool (NOPP) to overcome limited IOC photographic accreditations for London 2012. The NOPP required a central, auditable repository with fast image ingestion, metadata management, editing and simultaneous distribution to national, regional and specialist titles — all delivered to a tight deadline.

Trinity Mirror implemented OpenText Content Hub for Publishers (CHP) as a cloud-based solution, using FTP ingestion, automated workflows, editorial tools and a web syndication front end with 24/7 support. The result: more than 8,000 images made available (average camera-to-title time of 12 minutes), simultaneous access for 17 national and 1,100+ local titles, full download auditing, and over 1,500 images published in UK national media with continued availability after the Games.
