The University of Los Andes, a leading research university in Colombia serving about 13,000 students, faced a major Accounts Payable bottleneck: eight AP staff were processing 3,000–4,000 invoices per month with more than half arriving in the last week, resulting in manual work, lost documents, errors, late fees and strained supplier relationships.

Partnering with Projection Core Consulting, Uniandes implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management for SAP and OpenText Invoice Capture Center to centralize invoice receipt, apply OCR and automate validation and routing. The solution removed the month‑end backlog, reduced errors and duplicate payments, improved supplier communications, freed staff for strategic tasks and cut paper usage (about 40,000 pages saved annually).
