Case Study: PointsBet achieves flawless peak-event performance with OpenText Professional Performance Engineering

A OpenText Case Study

Preview of the PointsBet Case Study

The Melbourne Cup may stop a nation, but thanks to OpenText™ LoadRunner™ Professional it will never stop online betting

PointsBet, an Australian betting company operating in a highly competitive and tightly regulated market, needed a robust way to prepare for peak traffic around Melbourne Cup day, when most bets are placed in the final minutes before races. To handle this demand and support future growth across regions, PointsBet turned to OpenText Professional Performance Engineering for enterprise-ready performance testing.

OpenText implemented a performance testing framework that let PointsBet combine user activities into master test scenarios, monitor systems in real time, and integrate with GitHub for continuous development and testing. As a result, PointsBet handled hundreds of thousands of hits per second—about 10 times its normal run rate—with no performance issues on Melbourne Cup day, while also saving testers many hours and improving ROI.
