Case Study: Linde Group achieves time savings and a streamlined ECM platform with OpenText

A OpenText Case Study

Preview of the Linde Group Case Study

The Linde Group Depends on OpenText ECM to Improve Platform Strategy

The Linde Group, a global leader in gases and engineering operating in over 100 countries, faced uncontrolled document volumes running into the millions, fragmented SAP and non‑SAP repositories, and complex IT landscapes compounded by international operations and acquisitions. These issues made it difficult to enforce consistent, global process standards and created heavy development and support demands across disparate systems.

Linde implemented a centralized OpenText ECM platform—OpenText Enterprise Library with DocuLink and Document Access—seamlessly integrated with SAP to consolidate content (over 100 million documents across 50 logical archives and 18 connected SAP systems) and deliver more than ten reusable file solutions. The platform enabled immediate document access, faster customer responses, reduced enquiries via customer portals, rapid solution rollouts (e.g., post‑acquisition), and dramatically lower support overhead—supporting 10,000+ users with just four IT staff—while minimizing development, administration, and support effort and enabling a single global SAP/ECM template.
