Tata Sky, a leading direct-to-home satellite television provider in India, faced slow, error-prone accounts payable processes driven by manual, paper-based invoice handling, no standardized workflow, limited visibility into liabilities, and no audit trail—resulting in long cycle times, late payments and extra effort handling vendor queries.

Working with Avaali, Tata Sky implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, Invoice Capture Center, archiving and document-access solutions to digitize and automate invoice capture, validation, routing and storage. Deployed in 3½ months, the solution cut processing time from over seven days to about two (a five-day reduction), reduced staffing by three FTEs, enabled handling four times the invoice volume without extra investment, improved auditability and visibility, and delivered roughly a 70% efficiency gain in the Shared Services Center.
