A OpenText Case Study
T-Systems, the global ICT services arm of Deutsche Telekom, needed a scalable, company-wide platform to support rapidly formed, dispersed teams and improve document and knowledge management. Existing file systems and a fragmented OpenText deployment lacked automation, standardization and user acceptance, which increased administration time and hurt project efficiency.
T-Systems standardized on the OpenText ECM suite (Content Server, WebDAV, Virtual Folders, Directory Services and Communities of Practice), creating automated, role-based “team,” “group” and “project” workrooms with directory integration and preset filing structures. The new platform—used by ~40,000 employees—boosted per-user utilization by 30%, cut average response times by about 60%, reduced administration and callbacks, improved search and knowledge reuse, and positioned the company for international growth and future extranet and lifecycle-management initiatives.
