A OpenText Case Study
Sydney Adventist Hospital, the largest not-for-profit private hospital in New South Wales (550 beds, ~200,000 patients/year), needed a secure, reliable way to exchange high volumes of clinical information with external providers and internal departments while working with partners at varying stages of EMR adoption. The hospital relied on fax for critical workflows—booking requests, radiology reports, medical histories and billing—but wanted to reduce hardware, eliminate dedicated telephone lines, and ensure accurate, auditable delivery.
The hospital implemented OpenText RightFax, integrated with multifunction devices, the Radiology Information System and its ERP, with assistance from OpenText Professional Services. The solution automated routing and retries, provided audit trails, removed dedicated fax machines and lines, and improved delivery speed and accuracy—freeing staff to focus on patient care while giving the organization a scalable, secure document-exchange backbone.
