STU Ergo Hestia increases the speed of handling of claims by more than tenfold with OpenText

STU Ergo Hestia, one of Poland’s largest property insurers and an IT pioneer in the industry, was overwhelmed by a daily influx of roughly 30,000 paper documents that made claims processing slow, space-intensive and hard to control. The company needed to replace its paper archive and streamline workflows to speed up claim handling and improve service.

Working with partner Atena, Ergo Hestia implemented OpenText ECM Suite (Transactional Content Processing), created a central scanning office and digitized all incoming documents into a searchable archive (currently 15 TB, scalable to 800 TB) with automated workflows and role-based access. The result: paper was largely eliminated, instant access replaced weeks-long searches, claim handling sped up more than tenfold, productivity and customer/partner service improved, and customers receive compensation much faster.
