St. Lucie County online enhancing community resources and services with OpenText Web Site Management

St. Lucie County, a rapidly growing Florida government entity, struggled with a meager, disconnected website: manual, single-person updates created bottlenecks, inconsistent design, outdated information and slow response during emergencies. The county needed a cohesive, easier-to-manage online portal to serve residents, businesses and visitors more reliably.

The county implemented OpenText Web Site Management, appointed a dedicated webmaster, redesigned the site, and trained departmental editors to use templates and workflow-based publishing. The result was faster, more consistent and auditable content updates, better disaster communication, increased departmental involvement and a jump in page views from about 1.1 million (2007) to 3.1 million (2011), with plans to expand the approach to additional sites.
