SNCF Infra Shares Best Practices Via a Single Portal

SNCF Infra, the infrastructure division of France’s national rail operator that supports 13,600 trains daily and 57,000 agents, faced a growing volume of decentralized electronic documents, inconsistent intranet sites and email-based exchanges that made it hard to identify document status, share best practices or control access. Management required a secure, standards-based “third generation” intranet compatible with Windows/Office and browsers, rapid backup and better community collaboration.

SNCF Infra implemented OpenText Document Management and OpenText Extended Collaboration to create the Infra@net portal, migrate and centralize content, train contributors and launch online professional communities. Within six months 700 contributors and 20,000 documents were onboarded; today dozens of communities enable secure knowledge sharing, delivering quality-assured content, simpler access and improved ability to leverage corporate expertise.
