SMAX helps JSC NC KazMunayGas successfully automate IT processes to move from accounting and control of IT department operations to forging business partnerships

JSC NC KazMunayGas needed a new ITIL/ITSM solution after its previous automation vendor left the market, and it launched an open tender to replace the old toolkit. The company selected OpenText’s Service Management Automation X (SMAX) with integrator Intelligent Step LLP to support a complex migration of IT processes, integrations, and more than 30 self-service portal services.

OpenText implemented SMAX in a rapid rollout that started in late September 2020, deploying 12 processes first and then expanding across the group. The solution was integrated with SAP ERP, SAP SolMan, SolarWinds, Snow, UCMDB, Cisco/Avaya telephony, and Active Directory, and now supports about 3,000 users and 16 IT processes at the parent company, with scaling underway to additional subsidiaries.
