Preview of the Sloan Valve Case Study

Sloan Valve Creates Dynamic Web Site with Wide Appeal

Sloan Valve, a major U.S. manufacturer of commercial plumbing products (toilet flush valves, fixtures and faucets) with operations in Illinois, China and Mexico, needed a fresher, more professional public web presence that appealed beyond plumbers to architects and other audiences. Their existing CMS was underutilized and restrictive, content had grown stale, and editors relied heavily on the web team because there were no clear update processes or easy editing tools.

Sloan upgraded to Open Text Web Site Management 10.0 and redesigned internal processes—using consulting help for Navigation Manager, role-based access, approval workflows and an intuitive Web 2.0 interface. Adoption was quick, about 10 regular contributors now publish daily, marketing and support teams participate more, and the relaunched site (promoted at Green Build) has broader appeal with roughly a 6% traffic increase and fresher, more engaging content.
