Medidata is a cloud-based life sciences technology provider that supports clinical research for 850 customers through a highly integrated platform of 20+ modules. Rapid growth, frequent multi-product releases, and a multi-tenant architecture created a need for a proactive performance engineering workflow to validate scalability and operational readiness rather than wait for customer-reported issues.

Following a successful proof-of-concept, Medidata adopted Micro Focus Silk Performer to simulate realistic peak loads across devices, networks, and geographies without costly hardware, and integrated it into their continuous delivery pipeline. The solution scaled from 100 to 10,000 licenses, enabled fast, repeatable testing and consolidated reporting, delivered quicker customer turnarounds, and helped ensure performance for two million trial volunteers across more than 9,000 clinical trials.
