Preview of the Grupo Financiero Banorte Case Study

Seven hundred bank branches get secure web-based host access with Micro Focus Reflection for the Web.

Grupo Financiero Banorte, a century-old Mexican bank with about 1,200 branches and 10,000 employees, discovered after a recent acquisition that many branch employees lacked secure Internet access to corporate host applications. IT was managing an assortment of outdated terminal emulators that failed to meet security standards and needed a standardized, secure host-access solution.

Banorte implemented OpenText Reflection for the Web (with reseller Inffinix), providing browser-based, Java-applet access to mainframe, HP-UX and other hosts with strong encryption and token-based proxy authentication. The team connected 700 branches in one week without per-terminal installs, centralizing session management, cutting deployment time and costs, improving security, and planning a full rollout to remaining branches and affiliates.
