Salon franchisor automates and shortens new store opening lifecycle with OpenText MBPM

Great Clips, North America’s largest salon franchisor with more than 2,600 salons, struggled with limited process visibility and uncoordinated, reactive management across complex franchise functions—especially the multi-step new store opening process. An internal analysis showed managers could not proactively track or coordinate the many groups, applications and data sources involved in franchise relationship management, which led to delays, higher costs and missed growth opportunities.

By deploying OpenText MBPM (after engaging AVT Consulting), Great Clips automated the full franchise lifecycle, giving managers real-time visibility and a single process layer across systems. The solution consolidated databases from 35 to 4, eliminated over 40 hours/month of paper-based work, standardized roughly 120 opening steps, cut two weeks (about 15%) from the typical 14-week launch, and increased new store openings from 150 to 250 per year.
